It's about time

Funny, I don't post for four years and I logged in to a blank journal.  Luckily I don't think I stored anything important on this site, but let's try again, shall we?  I'm splitting my time between Istanbul and the US now, so I'll start with a travel journal and move on the assortment of unfinished pieces I'm in the middle of.  I battled passive voice and lost (it wasn't a fair fight) - and perhaps I might, just might, post all the old LOTR pieces.  Blank canvases are bad, bad, bad.  I'm trying my best to stick to original projects right now.  Everything I'm reading is slash and everything I'm writing is het, in whatever fandom.  Sent the first chapters of the original project out to a few people and have heard absolutely nothing back - no "it sucks, stop writing" or "you might want to add some detail to the fourth paragraph on the third page."  Nothing.  The partner in crime, English is not his first language, tends to fall asleep when he's generously reading.  Not good signs.  So, I'm starting here again and I need you people.
