Livejournal but . . . better? I think everyone's spooked by the fact that lj was bought by a Russian company, laid off a lot of the US staff, so it might suddenly disappear one day. It's a conspiracy! Dreamwidth is supposed to fill all the gaps that lj cannot: reading, tweaking and publishing.
That's all guessing from the things I've read lately. Honestly, I don't know what it is.
